Arts Award
Arts Award is an Arts Council England project, run by Trinity College London. Their mission is to support any young person to enjoy the arts, to support young people to connect with and take part in the wider arts world, and develop creativity, communication and leadership skills. Arts Award reflects many different interests and ambitions, encourages individual development and helps young people to define their creative futures.
To achieve an Arts Award young people take on challenges in an art form, participating in arts activities, experiencing arts events, being inspired by artists and leading others.

At Brenda Key School of Dance we will be focusing on dance as our chosen art form, however students are not limited to the styles taught within their regular syllabus classes. The Arts Award will be an opportunity for students to explore and experience the aspects of dance that they are interested in. Students can choose their own individual project focus and really broaden their creative horizons. Not all lessons will be practical as students will be required to evidence their work. Due to the individual nature of projects, some independent research will be required but the majority of work will take place during class time. We will be experiencing dance from all aspects: performing, choreographing, teaching, costumes, music, companies. As classes are designed to expand existing knowledge we will be organising trips, guest teachers and workshops for students to participate in. Regular classes will take place on Friday evenings.
